Contents :

The course takes place over 3 years. Each year equates to 60 ECTS credits spread over approximately 800 hours of teaching activities:

-        In the first year, the focus is on basic theory classes, aimed at providing a solid scientific foundation as well as an introduction to basic practices. An introduction to the hospital environment is offered to students.

-        In the second year, theoretical classes move onto more specialised subjects and the practical work becomes more like the work carried out in the profession. Several hospital placements complete this training.

-        In the third year, a large part of the time is spent in hospital placements. In addition to these placements, activities such as special focus courses, seminars, an introduction to current issues and specialised practical tasks are also organised.

Admission and enrolment procedure :

Admission to the first year of the course is open to students who:

-        hold either a higher secondary education certificate issued by a Belgian secondary education establishment or one of the other certificates or diplomas mentioned in paragraph 1, article 22 of the decree dated 5 August 1995.

-        demonstrate sufficient command of the French language according to terms and conditions set down in the law.

Access to further studies :

The medical imaging student can in certain circumstances enrol for university studies where ECTS credits from this course are recognised.

International relationship :

Exchanges are possible subject to departmental and headship approval. These are normally limited to students in their last year and are primarily placements.
